Sue Beverly Wager

February 20, 1935 – August 13, 2026
Obituary of Sue Beverly Wager
IN THE CARE OF

Imperial Memorial Gardens Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery

Sue was born in Goldfield, outside of Victor, Colorado February 20, 1935 to Frances and Byril Hearst and into a family of miners. As a child, her father also worked in mines in Montana and Arizona, and then back to Colorado. He was later to go to work for the CF&I in Pueblo, which is where Sue graduated from Centennial High school in 1952.

Sue married Ray Dean Wager (also of Pueblo) in 1954. They went on to have four children together: Susan Raye (1955), Cassandra Lea (1958), Terri Frances (1959), and Garrick Thomas (1965).

With a long-standing interest in art, Sue pursued a degree in Elementary Art Education which she completed in 1965 at the University of Southern Colorado.

In 1966 Ray was transferred by Sears Roebuck from Pueblo to the Westland Store in Lakewood, Colorado. The family relocated to Arvada, and Sue was a substitute teacher for the Jeffco School District. Sue ultimately worked in various places as the needs of her family changed. This included working with Ray in his furniture consignment business, with a real estate office, and with the Colorado State Parks reservation system.

Sue was a fine artist herself working in oil painting and clay sculpture. Her family cherishes the art that they have from her. As a teacher herself, she was always encouraging and supportive to her children’s and grand children’s education.

Sue passed into her next life on August 13, 2026 with family near. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend and will be greatly missed.
