

Susan Bezek, 73, passed away August 10 at her home in Pueblo West. During her four-month illness, she was cared for by family, friends, and nurses from Sangre de Cristo Hospice. The daughter of Michael J. Bezek Sr. and Mary (Cornacchione) Bezek, Susan was predeceased by 10 days by her brother, Michael. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lyn, nephew Darryl, two great nephews, one great niece, and numerous cousins.
A graduate of East High School, she went to work for Quest Communications in 1970 as an Operator in Information Services and retired 30 years later, happy not to answer any more questions.
Susan was an avid grower of flowers, a dedicated lover of dogs, an expert baker of Italian cookies, a crafty creator of holiday decorations, and, most importantly, a compassionate helper to anyone who needed a boost. Stoic, tough, and independent, Susan accepted her cancer diagnosis with courage and grace. She will be missed by a large circle of friends who loved her more than she ever realized.
Funeral services will be held on August 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Imperial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region in Pueblo, 4600 Eagleridge Place, Pueblo.
