It is with deep love that we announce the passing of Viola Alberta Lucero, who left this world feeling, as she often said, “like a million bucks.” Whether she was dressed in shades of her favorite color purple or offering assistance to help, a kind word or advice, she carried herself with a mental toughness that inspired others. Her presence was unmistakable, and full of life.
Viola Alberta Lucero, 90, of Pueblo, passed away on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Viola lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, and a deep love for her family and friends.
Viola retired from St. Mary Corwin Hospital, where she worked the night shift alongside her dear friend, Mrs. Anna Koncilja. In her later years, she and her beloved dog, Daisy, spent their time "working" at A-Real Brake & Muffler. There, she answered phones, scheduled appointments, and, most importantly, enjoyed conversing with customers. Viola will be remembered for her care for others, her boundless energy, and her wonderful Mexican cooking, especially her salsa. She found great joy in spending time at the family cabin in Beulah, gardening, taking rides, and thrifting; her presence brought comfort and laughter to everyone she knew.
Viola is survived by Debbie (Mark) Gurule and Gabriel "Steve" Lucero; grandchildren Arthur Lucero III, Daniel Lucero, Jesse, Steve, Cecil and Victoria Lavine, Jeremy Cesario, Taylor and Marcus Gurule, Brooke, Jeg, and Hannah Lucero; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, godchildren Esther Garcia, Angela Chariez and Michael Perez, nieces, nephews, and special friends Maryann, Cora, Margaret, and the Koncilja family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur G Lucero Sr. and her children, Arthur Lucero Jr. and Dolores "Dee" Lavine.
Her legacy is simple and profound: live boldly and never forget to feel like a million bucks!
No services will be held per Viola's request.
