Virginia May Clay

Born and raised in Pueblo, Virginia married the love of her life, Larry, and spent the next chapter of her life traveling the world during his 22 years of service in the U.S. Army. She served as the steadfast, loving foundation for her family through Larry’s three combat deployments to Vietnam and assignments to remote duty stations, including Panama and Alaska. After Larry’s retirement from the Army, they put down roots in Pueblo, Virginia’s home town.

Virginia loved her family dearly, never missing a practice, game, or family get-together whenever she could attend. Her favorite pastimes included playing bingo, working on puzzles, cheering on the Colorado Rockies, and listening to classic country music—especially Hank Williams Sr. She also had a wonderful talent for crafts, fondly remembered for handmade Christmas stockings, Easter baskets and Halloween bags that she made for hundreds of children over the years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Sr., and her children, Larry Jr. (1959), Larry Jr. (1960), Sylvia, Tracy, Terry, and Crystal.

Virginia is survived by her children, Kathy (Gary) Lamastus, Donnie (Yvette) Stanley, Sherry (Tony) Ruff, and Eric (Jackie) Clay; grandchildren, Shawnda, Terry S., Adena, Matthew, Amanda, Heather, Travis, Cody, Daniel, Terry C., and Aria; as well as numerous beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Imperial Memorial Gardens on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
