

Virginia Marie “Ginny” Smith, 83, passed away March 1, 2023. Survived by her sisters, Shawnee Chambre (New York City), Terry Gehm (Long Island, NY), and Anita Smith (San Francisco,CA); and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her father/mother, Anthony Smith and Andrea Guerrero; and siblings, Ernest Smith, George Smith, Victoria Scappini, and Kathryn Galves. Ginny was born May 3, 1939, in Pueblo, Colorado. Ginny received many degrees including English Literature, Art History and Education. She lived and had successful and challenging high tech careers in both San Francisco and New York, including membership on corporate boards and advisory groups, but eventually found her way back home to Pueblo. Throughout her life, art was her love and true passion. She received many accolades for her oil paintings, and she had a following of collectors. Ginny was a member of the Art Students League of New York and one of her favorite things was spending time with her artist friends and instructors. Ginny loved and enjoyed tending her garden and sitting out in her back yard enjoying nature. Her connection to her family was very important and her daily talks to her sisters became even more important after a diagnosis of leukemia. Ginny faced her diagnosis with dignity and was very positive right up until the end.
She was a devout Catholic and member of Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church.
