

Walter Camack, born June 11, 1933 in Pueblo, passed away May 4, 2011 after a long illness. He was received into the arms of Jesus Christ, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted loving wife of 58 years, Bonnie J. Camack; children, Mark (Bonnie) Camack, Tom (Samantha) Camack, Tecumseh (Chris) Burnett, Suzanne (Hagop) Bouldoukian; grandchildren, Donica Burnett, Noah Camack, Ian Burnett, Tyler Camack, numerous nieces and nephews. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Florence Camack, and sister, JoAnn Anderson. Walter was valedictorian of Centennial High School in 1951. He graduated from Colorado University Boulder with a B.S. in engineering May1, 1956. During an era of visionary space exploration, he moved with his family to work on projects on the east and west coasts. He went on to be a pioneer in the aerospace industry, working for NASA, Lockheed, Ford Aerospace and Martin Marietta. He moved back to Pueblo with his wife in 1984, where he pursued his love – fossil collecting on Bacullite Mesa. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, ranging from science, philosophy and faith. The family would like to express their thanks to all for your prayers and cards, as well as to the staff of St. Mary Corwin Hospital/Rehab, Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Visiting Angels, who took such loving care of Walter during his last days.
