Weston was born March 31st, 1988, to Daniel and Sharon Wells in Pueblo, Colorado. Weston passed away on June 26th, 2022, from a motorcycle accident.
Weston graduated from Pueblo West High School in 2006. He followed in his dad’s footsteps and joined the Pueblo West Fire Department as a volunteer.
He joined the United States Army in 2009, attending Basic Training and MP (military police) school at Fort Leonard Wood. This made him fourth generation law-enforcement, following his father, paternal grandfather, and paternal great-grandfather. He was also a graduate of the US Army Sabalauski Air Assault School at Fort Campbell. He served in Korea, Fort Campbell, and Fort Carson. Weston’s decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons include the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Air Assault Badge. Weston was discharged in December of 2013.
Weston is predeceased by his mother, Sharon Wells, who welcomed him to Heaven with open arms. He is also joined in the afterlife by family members; Emily Collins, John Collins, Henry Wells, and Jean Wells; close friends, Ben Zoch, Trish Jones, Collin Thomas, and SPC Kurt Kern.
Weston is survived by his father, Daniel (Danielle) Wells, sister, Samantha (Timothy) Mitchell, children Kaylyn Crump and Felix Wells, mothers to Weston’s children, Melissa Crump, and Kaitlyn Vigil, and his “favorite” aunts, Ruth Wells and Eva Opal. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Special friends; Kris (Michele) Gard, Chris Jones, Mike (Lori) Middleton, Taylor Canfield, Robert (Sabrina) Love, and the Spaccamonti Excavation Family.
Weston was a hard-worker and enjoyed being a heavy equipment operator. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his son, Felix, ice fishing, watching movies, riding his motorcycle, golfing, posting memes on Facebook, SpongeBob jokes with his sister, and grilling/smoking/drinking with his brother-in-law. Weston was well known for his sense of humor and kept everyone laughing. He always had a smile on his face and was quick with comebacks. He loved his country and was a true patriot. His laugh was infectious and one that will never be forgotten.
Everyone who knew Weston, is aware that he would not like a sad, "traditional" funeral service. He would have preferred his family and friends gathering for a Celebration having a fun time reminiscing.
Weston’s Celebration of Life will be held July 2nd, 2022, at the Good Pasture Barn (Big Red Barn) at 7970 CO-78, Beulah, Colorado 81023 from 4pm to 8pm. Casual attire is fine, but the family requests that you wear red, white, blue, or green. Food, dessert, and water will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Weston’s name to the local Disabled American Veterans (DAV), PAWS for Life Animal Shelter, or monetary donations to care for his son, Felix, and dog, Tori. Checks can be made out to Daniel Wells (c/o Felix Wells).
Thank you to Joshua Johnson, Dylan Jacketta, AJ Quintana, Kathy Mora, Michelle Ballard, Emily Moore, Lonnie Legan, Pueblo West Fire Department, Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Peer Support Team, Beulah Fire Department, Sherrie Howie (Owner of the Big Red Barn) and the numerous people that have gone above and beyond to help.
