William “Bill” Carl Anderson, 85, devoted husband, father and friend, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2014, with his loving wife by his side. Bill was born in Salida, Colorado, on November 16, 1928. He was the third child, and only son, of Albert Carl and Irene (Bennett) Anderson. After high school, Bill diligently served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1948. After serving in the Marines, Bill worked in the oil fields of California. Pursuing his passion of racing horses, Bill successfully trained race horses for the next 18 years, campaigning his racing stables in Colorado, Florida and New Mexico. Bill made the decision to quit racing horses to be at home with his family in 1984 and began a successful career in home remodeling with his partner, Grant Cicerelli. Bill was a master carpenter and drywall finisher and his signature “hand-swirled” ceilings can be found in many of the finer homes throughout Pueblo. Bill’s commitment to his family and craft created a legacy that will live on for many years to come. Bill was preceded in death by father, mother, and three sisters. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ruella; sons, Ryan (Jennifer) Anderson and Mark (Donna) Aliff; grandchildren, Jack and Kate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
