

William H. “Bud” Hawkins, 99, passed away among family on February 27, 2013. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; and son, Robert L. Hawkins. Bud is survived by his children, John Hawkins, and Ruth (Charles) Bonfadini; grandchildren, Joseph (Danika Breece) Bonfadini, David (Lorissa Archuleta) Bonfadini, and Matthew (Danika) Bonfadini; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Mikel, and Bella; and daughter-in-law, Valarie Hawkins, wife of Robert Hawkins; five grandchildren, William, Roberta, Daniel, Mark, Shannon Hawkins. Bud served in the Navy during WWII, and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Free Masons South Lodge # 31. Bud worked for the Police Department as a Traffic Motorcycle Officer. He worked for the Star Journal/Pueblo Chieftain in 1951, and retired in 1979. Bud was a master story teller, woodworker, motorcycle rider, semi pro tennis player, and an NRA marksman in handguns and a handgun Instructor. Bud was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.
