Mrs.Alma Ruth Hobbs Howell, age 88, passed away March 22, 2019 at Life Care Center in Columbia, Tennessee from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Funeral services for Mrs. Howell will be Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Bro. Bob McIlwain will be officiating. Burial will follow at Scotts Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Howell was born June 8, 1930 in Pulaski, Tennessee. Her parents were the late Edd Lee Hobbs and Eura Jane McClure Hobbs. Alma Ruth Hobbs Howell had been married to Dewey Thomas Howell for 60 years at the time of his death in 2008. She lived in the Scotts Hill Community of Giles County her entire life. Mrs. Howell was a graduate of Bodenham High School and she was a member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church, where she had served in earlier years as a Children's Sunday School Teacher and Song Leader. Alma Ruth had the heart of a pioneer, being her happiest whe she was working on the family farm. Mrs. Howell is survived by her four children: Patricia Ann (Larry) Hazelwood, Brenda Gail (Billy) Kennedy, Toby (Connie) Howell, and Ricky Lynn Howell. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Barry Lynn Garner, Teresa Marks, Tammy Bowden, Jessica Lynn Flood, Jamie McCluskey, Gwen Howell, Kelly Howell, and Carly Howell. Alma Ruth is survived by her great-grandchildren: Karrie Lynn Garner, Kody Garner, Zachary Thomas Garner, Kade Bowden, Konner Bowden, Riley McMillan, Carli McMillan, Lillian McCluskey, and Emma Howell. Mrs. Howell is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and a devoted nephew she loved like a son, Joe Howell. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Howell is predeceased by brothers and sisters: Dr.James Nathaniel (Kathleen) Hobbs, Maumie (James) Gibbons, Garfield (Mildred) Hobbs, Lila Mae (Elonzo) Shook, Fannie Lee (Calvin) Wilburn, Derothy (Wilson) Neal, Dorothy Jane (Cecil) Howell. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joe Howell, Kay Holley, Dymple Smith, Dr. Gibran Naddy, Wayne Bee, Wade Wilburn, Wayne Franks, Dr.Tom Davis, Shannon and Troy Braxter, and Rubye Hill.
