Born October 30, 1942 in Bunker Hill, TN Barbara lived a life overflowing with faith, laughter, and love. She was married to the love of her life, Glen Fly, for 64 beautiful years—one full of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and enough memories to fill several lifetimes.
If there was one thing everyone knew about Barbara, it was that she loved her family with her whole being—and wasn’t afraid to boss them around a little to make sure they knew it. Her humor could brighten the darkest day, and her stubborn streak could rival a mule’s—but it was that same strong will that carried her through life’s storms with grace and grit.
And then there was the fishing. Oh, the fishing. Whether on the lake or the river, she could out fish, out patience, and out brag just about anyone. If you ever tried to compete with her, you probably ended up holding the net while she reeled in “just one more”.
She was a woman of deep Christian faith, with a prayer life as strong as her cast and a heart that reflected Christ’s love in everything she did. She taught us to love without condition, laugh without apology, and keep our eyes on Heaven.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 64 years, Glen Fly, her two children, six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren who somehow inherited both her sense of humor and her stubbornness.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clay Warren Beddingfield and Retta Mae Mitchell Beddingfield; brother Paul Beddingfield; sister Madeline Beddingfield; nephew Ricky Beddingfield; niece April Beddingfield Lau; son-in-law Charles Wayne Harris; and aunt Mary Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband Glen Fly; daughters Sherry Allen (LeeRoy) and Angela Harris; brother Ronnie Beddingfield (Sharon); grandchildren Timmy Pickett (Mackenzie), Anna Harris, Tommy Allen, Tristan Pickett (Bailey), Angelina Pickett, Jesse Allen; great grandchildren Delaney, Beau, Henry, Lacey, Raelyn, Bohannon, Presley, Ava, Madalyn, Charlie, Mason, and Lakelyn; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
