Don was born December 28, 1951, in Giles County, TN to Walter Lillard and Martha Ann James Stewart. He loved hunting ginseng, arrowheads, and gardening. Don was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Martha Stewart, his wife Susie Stewart, sisters Brina Swanner, and Vickie Stewart.

Survivors include his daughter Becky Stewart of Elkton, brothers James Stewart of Athens, Mike Stewart of Pulaski, Teddy Stewart (Cheryl) of Minor Hill, Jeff Stewart (Alisa) of Minor Hill, sister Paulette Thompson Wayne Swanner) of Athens. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
