

Edward Campbell, age 87 passed away in Maury Regional Medical Center, Monday September 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents Smith and Alma Merrell Campbell, brothers Clyde and Joe, and sister Helen Bailes.
Mr. Campbell was born in Lincoln County Tennessee July 29, 1927 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and Korea. He worked in construction and in later years taught building trades at the Tennessee Technical College. He was a long time and active member of New Zion Baptist Church, an avid fisherman and football fan.
Visitation will be Thursday September 25, 2014 from 12 until 2 p.m. at Carr & Funeral Home with Funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Internment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.
He is survived by his wife Doris of 66 years, children Joyce Vernon of Pulaski, Tennessee, Rickey and wife Regina of Bridgeport, Michigan and Mike and wife Hollie of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother John Willard Campbell of Athens, Alabama, sisters Sarah Finley and Martha Thompson of Ardmore, Alabama, Lucille Bailes of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and a large number of nieces, nephews and friends.
