He was son of the late Neely and Janie Burgess Hobbs. He was at Richland School for 25 years serving as Teacher and Principal and was the Project Director for Upward Bound at Martin Methodist College, and was a member of the TSSAA Hall of Fame.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday December 1, 2011 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 Friday at First United Methodist Church of Pulaski where remains will lie in State from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Lynnwood Cemetery.
Survivors include wife Sally Hobbs of Pulaski, son Wesley and wife Christine Hobbs of Chapel Hill, TN, daughter Ashley Hobbs of Chapel Hill, TN, sister Susie and husband Gary Littleton of Lynnville, TN.
Memorial Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Pulaski Building Fund or Martin Methodist College Student Emergency Fund.
