Mrs. Hughes was born in the Bunker Hill community, daughter of the late James Hawkins and Helen Burch Cardin. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Van Hughes as well as her daughter Mary Elizabeth Goodman and her son William Thurman Hughes
She is survived by three daughters; Patricia Mitchell of Lewisburg TN., Wanda Denton of Nashville, TN. and Kathy Mayo of Pulaski, TN. she is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Friday June 23, 2017 from 11 am till 2:30 pm at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 3 pm June 23, 2017 at Giles memory Gardens.
