She was born in Giles County, TN, on May 14, 1936, her parents were the late John Edward and Sarah Pearl Lanier Phillips, she was preceded in death by husband, Dean Abernathy, son, Rickey Abernathy, daughter Cathy Childers, grandson, Jason Childers.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 16, 2015, f rom 4PM to 8PM at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, 8-17-2015, at 11AM, at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Giles Memory Garden.
Survivors are: son, Steve Abernathy of Pulaski, TN, brothers, John Phillips, Jr. of Pulaski, TN, James C. Phillips of Atlanta, GA, Larry Phillips of Pulaski, TN, grandchildren, Madelin Abernathy, Michelle Bone, Joshua, Amanda and Brian Abernathy, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
