John Douglas Turner of Elkton passed away Friday, May 18, 2018. He was a retired safety administrator at Solucia in Decatur Al. He was also a former Mayor and City Councilman for the city of Elkton, and a member of Elkton Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late John Maples and Maggie Dee Nalley Turner, and his stepdad, Woodrow Frey.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Turner of Elkton, his daughters, Becky Clifft and husband Scott of Ethridge, and Annette Turner of Columbia, his stepson, Michael Bryant of Pulaski, his stepdaughter, Debbie Banes and husband Don of Green Hill, Al., his sisters, Jo Ann Williams of Huntsville and Joyce Carrington of Decatur, his grandchildren, Zack Morrow and wife Chelsea, Cody Staggs and wife Sara, Kelsey Morrow, and Lindsey Inman and husband Paul, his 7 great grandchildren, and his several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elkton Cemetery.
