Though her loved ones grieve her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and in knowing that she has been welcomed into the arms of her Savior. She lived a life that wasn't measured by fame or wealth, but by faith, family, and the thousands of ordinary acts of love that become extraordinary over eighty years.
Born on April 15, 1946, Linda was a lifelong resident of Giles County and a proud graduate of Minor Hill High School. She faithfully served the students, families, and staff of Minor Hill School for more than thirty years as the school secretary, touching countless lives with her dedication and warm spirit.
A devoted member of the Baptist faith, Linda was a true woman of God whose life reflected grace and unwavering faith.
To her family, she was "Nana," a title she wore with immeasurable pride and joy. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and truly believed they hung the moon. Her greatest accomplishments were never found in titles or awards, but in the love she poured into those around her. She embodied everything a grandmother should be, providing a lifetime of encouragement, wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love.
Linda was an incredible cook who was always eager to try a new recipe, and many of her happiest moments were spent preparing meals and creating memories around the table. She enjoyed keeping up with current events, especially watching Fox News, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with the family she cherished so deeply.
She is survived by her son, Bobby Oliver; her grandchildren, Shelby Oliver Hargrove (Lee) and Peyton Oliver; her beloved great-grandchildren, Beckett Hargrove and Molly Kate Hargrove; and her sister, Evelyn Felker, along with many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Oliver; her parents, Rena Mae Howard McRee and James Leonard McRee; her brothers, Edwin McRee and Glen McRee; and her precious great-grandson, Lincoln Drake Oliver.
While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that the same faithful God she served throughout her life has called her home. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on through the generations who were privileged to call her Mother, Sister, Nana, and Friend.
