Mr. Thompson was the son of the late Byrd Clarence and Sarah Ida Gentry Thompson and preceded in death by his wife Mary Will Thompson, daughter Joyce Beasley, and two grandchildren Kevin Beasley and Dana Beasley.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 1, 2010 from 5 until 8 pm at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral will be 2 pm Thursday September 2, 2010 at Carr & Erwin Chapel with interment in Minor Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include sons Steve Thompson and wife Pat of Minor Hill, Stanley Thompson of Lexington, Alabama, Brother J D Thompson and wife June of Minor Hill, grandchildren Stanley Wayne Thompson, Chad Thompson, Jessie Wade Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Megan Thompson.
