Michael was born June 28, 1971, in Pulaski, Tn to Jimmy Lee and Geneva Baxter Thornton. He worked in maintenance at Tenneco in Athens and loved coon hunting and fishing in his spare time. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lillie Mae and William Thornton, and Mable and LE Baxter.
Visitation will be 11am to 1pm Friday, October 23, 2026, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with Funeral to follow at 1pm. Interment will be in Hester Cemetery in Lester, Al.
Survivors include his parents Jimmy and Geneva Thornton; children, Kinsley Thorton, Zach Thornton, Trent Thornton (Casey Green); wife, Farrah Hodges Thornton; grandchildren, Jaileigh Mitchell, Adlee Thornton, Avianna Mitchell, Mila Thornton; ex-wife Melissa Adkins; numerous other relatives and friends.
