He was born in Stella, TN, on September 17, 1921, a retired Farmer and retired from the Giles County Highway Dept. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was preceded in death by his parents, Villard Clyde and Clara May Hanna Dawes, his wife, Mivian Dawes, and his daughter, Jill Dunavant.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home where Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Stella Cemetery.
Survivors include his son in law, Bill Dunavant and wife Nancy of Campbellsville, TN, his grandsons, Jake Dunavant and Wife Amanda of Nashville, TN and Joseph Dunavant of Birmingham, AL, and his great grandson, Tillman Dunavant.
