Wendell was born January 23, 1941, in Prospect, TN to Ingomar C. and Viola Pewitt Griffin. He was a United States Navy Veteran, former member of Highland Baptist Church, and retired after 20 years at General Motors. Wendell greatly enjoyed fishing and horseback riding in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Gladys Fay Griffin; parents Ingomar and Viola Griffin; son Jeff Allen Griffin; brothers Albert, AW, Robert, John, Ingomar, Jr., Alvin, Harold, and Jerry Griffin; sisters Jane Step, Annie Griffin, Helean White, Millie Carrol, Frances Robertson, and Ruth Johns.
Survivors include his siter Betty Ann Fox; nephews Paul Griffin and wife Margaret, Mickey Griffin and wife Kay; great niece Tammy Forshey and husband Mike; numerous other relatives and friends.
