Dennis Roy Tagge

July 19, 1965January 6, 2021

Dennis R. Tagge, beloved husband of Samantha A. Tagge, was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on July 19, 1965. After graduating from Grand Island Senior High School in 1983, he attended South East Community College in Milford, NE. He graduated at the top of class, with honors, in the very first General Motors Automotive Service Excellence Program. After beginning his career in Grand Island he soon relocated to Colorado and then on to Florida where he quickly climbed the ranks within the automotive industry.

On November 23,2001, Dennis married the love of his life, Samantha. This unification added three beautiful daughters Meagan, Brittany and Kaitlin to his family of two (with his son Brandon Tagge). Dennis was always driven by success in his 26 years at Palm Automotive in Punta Gorda, FL., but nothing made him more proud than his family.

Everyone loved Dennis and every stranger was a soon-to-be friend. Dennis enjoyed sharing his adventures and experiences with everyone around him. He had so much knowledge about various topics and told it with enthusiasm, captivating his audience. This outgoing, kind and selfless man, the world will forever remember.

In his short 55 years, Dennis loved life to the fullest. You could find him driving a golf ball down the fairway towards the green, tossing a line in the water, spear-fishing for hogfish (Certified Dive Master), or enjoying a Saturday football game, "Gooo Biggg Reddd ... "

In 2013, Dennis was diagnosed with a Brain tumor. For 7 ½ years, he put up a courageous fight, showing himself and everyone how strong he truly was. In his friends and family, he found his strength but most importantly in his faith in God. Sadly, on January 6, 2021, he lost his battle when he contracted the COVID-19 virus while in the hospital.

Dennis was proceeded in death by his father Roy Tagge. He is survived by wife Samantha Tagge. Step-father Lee Hanson and Mother Patricia Hanson. Brother Donnie Tagge. He will be greatly missed by his children Brandon Tagge (grandson's Xander & Jasper), Meagan Rodgers, Brittany Fazzone (granddaughter Makenna), Kaitlin Fazzone-Hunt (grandson Ethan) and son-in-law Joshua Hunt. He is also survived by his "furbabies" Wyatt and Sookie as well as multiple cousins, nephews, nieces and extended family and friends in Nebraska and Florida.

Due to COVID- 19, no formal service will be held. To express condolences to the family and share in celebrating the life of Dennis, please visit and sign the online guestbook.

Dennis,a colleague, student, teacher and most of all my friend, I am truly saddened after receiving this tragic news. My story starts many years ago, 23 to be exact, when we met at our first Chrysler meeting. Dennis was never too busy to lend an ear or share his knowledge, offering suggestions based on his years of experience, ensuring everyone around him would succeed. Dennis impacted me and many others in so many ways, always having a presence, leaving everyone he encountered with a little bit more of a positive outlook on things. I am saddened to have to say goodbye;Dennis truly left his mark, and most of all his memory. I will miss you Dennis.

I had worked in sales at Palm, 3 different times beginning in '94, and Dennis was always a straight shooter with helping with agg in the Chrysler then Chevy service departments. Our friendship continued on the golf course and the league he ran for years. I am saddened to read of his passing from this life, but I share the joy and comfort of Jesus' promise for eternal life for all who believe. I was lucky to have Dennis for a friend! My condolences and prayers of support for the Tagge family.

I’ve known Dennis for over twenty years, first as part of Dealer Performance Groups, and later the privilege of being his Area Manager calling on his store.

Over the course of those years he and I had countless number conversations about business, family, and friendship. During those conversations, I came to the conclusion to know Dennis as a man of faith in god, trust in friendship, and unending love of his family.

I share this picture of Dennis, to share how I will always remember Dennis. As someone who loved and lived life to the fullest, appreciated his friends, and of the great times we spent together.

The bond that Dennis and I shared was both professional and later personal as we were part of the FCA wiADVISOR pilot program. His commitment and detailed suggestions for the development of the system were unmatched and the results still live in the system today, and will forever. The experience of millions of FCA dealership service customers has been enhanced by those efforts.
His memory will live on at FCA and Dealer-FX.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. The sacrifices a dealership service directors family must make in the name of operational excellence may seem at times to go unnoticed, but please believe they are not.
Rest in peace ole buddy. See ya soon.

Samantha & Family,
With deepest sympathy and heartfelt love and caring, may God give you all strength and faith in knowing Dennis’s Spirit is soaring high in the Heavens; watching over you, loving you from above.
Memories of Dennis, I carry are growing up together in our small town of G.I., hanging out in the high school parking lot-laughing, listening to music, cruising South Locust, going swimming @ L.E.Ray, hanging out on the South Platte River till all hours in the morning, just talking about all our futures, first jobs, parties, so many great great memories. When I think of Dennis, I will forever see that great smile and laugh of his. Thank you for sharing all the wonderful family pictures on facebook through the years to keep us connected.
Love, Comfort & Prayers,

Sam, We were so sorry to learn of Dennis passing after all you have both been through. The two of your were a perfect match that complemented each other with total love. It is difficult today to find couples with that kind of love and commitment, so we want you to know that we understand the love the two of you enjoyed. Dennis is in God's protective love and will suffer no more, Please take a few minutes every day to look at the sunrise and know he is smiling down on you with all his love.
