Dorothy A Robert

Born on November 8, 1936, in Queens, New York, Dorothy lived a long and loving life devoted to her family. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, love of God, the theater, traveling, and the beach.

She was married to her loving husband, Louis C. Robert, on December 17, 1955, in Astoria, New York. They shared 56 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on February 25, 2012, and were blessed with three children.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved children: Debra and her husband Steve; Maureen and the late Patrick; and John and his wife Sue. She was a cherished grandmother to J.P.; Melissa; Debra Leigh and her husband Ankit; Sean; Joseph; Louis; and Deirdre and her husband Charles. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren, Aarav and Avi.

A devoted Catholic, Dorothy generously gave countless hours of her time to various church committees at Saint Raphael's Catholic Church in East Meadow, NY, and San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, FL. She especially loved being an active member of the Columbiettes and the Emmaus ministries, where she found lifelong friendships.

Although she spent most of her life in New York, Dorothy had been living full-time in Punta Gorda for the past three years with her daughter Maureen. While her time as a Floridian was brief, she made a meaningful and lasting impact on those around her. Many of her neighbors and fellow parishioners became like family. Among her dearest friends were Father Jacek; Barbara; Rita; Gayle; Lauren and Chris and their children, Pax and Fay; and many others whose lives were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

An afternoon visitation for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 635 E. Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950.

An evening visitation will occur Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 635 E. Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950.

A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33980.
