Elizabeth "Betty" Carolyn Harding 86, resident of Venice, Fla., passed away Monday, November 29th, 2021. She was born November 9, 1935 to Harry and Helen Vail and resided in Warwick, N.Y. Betty graduated from State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz and became an elementary school teacher for over 20 years. Following college, Betty married Jack Harding and they were happily married for 55 years. While raising her family in Mahopac, N.Y., Betty enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States and Canada visiting all the National Parks and much more every summer. They eventually built a home on Cape Cod, Mass. where Betty spent the remainder of her summers. Upon retirement, Betty and Jack made their winter home in Spring Hill, Fla. They traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, and Southern Canada. Betty enjoyed playing golf, tennis and was a very talented quilter who made countless quilts for everyone she loved. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jack Harding, son Jack Keith Harding and granddaughter Chelsea Elizabeth Vance. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jill and Jerry Vance, her son Jay Harding and grandchildren Ryan Vance (wife Cali Vance) and Joseph, Juliana, Jasmine and Jocelyn Harding, and great-grandchild Hayden Vance. The family will hold a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to the Dementia Society of America at dementiasociety.org .
