Boy Scouts of America, ski club, and playing the drums in the school band were John’s high school passions. He won many solo and ensemble awards on the drums.
After high school John moved to Florida and worked many years with his father at his interior design business. He loved the sunshine! John was an avid toy collector, extremely knowledgeable about value and the qualities that make an item rare. He enjoyed collecting toys from the 1970s most of all.
If you’ve ever heard the Tom Petty song “I Won’t Back Down” and you knew John well, you’d understand why it is so descriptive of the boy and the man who had a will of steel that translated into his many achievements. If John decided he was going to do something, he did it, and he did it as perfectly as possible. He was a good friend and much admired, often doing small and large thoughtful acts for others . He will be missed terribly by all who knew him.
