John Nystuen

John Nystuen, Age 83, of Punta Gorda Florida passed away on September 14, 2026. John was born in Northfield Minnesota on December 22, 1942, where he was raised by parents Eileen and Arthur Nystuen and graduated high school.

After graduating high school John attended Winona State College in southeastern Minnesota where he met his future wife Patricia and earned his bachelor’s degree in business. They were married 55 years until her passing in 2020. John had a successful career as a business insurance broker serving local, national, and international clients. Along with Patricia, he was able to retire at age 55, and they both relocated to southwest Florida from Minnesota. He and Pat enjoyed continuing their summers at their McGregor, Minnesota lake home and spending the rest of the year in Punta Gorda, Florida.

John was a member of the Northfield National Guard branch, Minneapolis Zurah Shriners Temple, Punta Gorda Roadrunners RV Club, Punta Gorda Cruising Club, Punta Gorda Civic Association, and Big Sandy Lake Association where he and Pat made many friends, enjoyed many trips, excursions with the RV and Boat, and made lasting impressions on those who knew him over the years.

John is survived by his son Edward and brother Gregory (Christina) Nystuen.
