

Margaret Anne O’Brien, of Punta Gorda, FL was born on March 15, 1940 in Tuscola County in Cass City, Michigan. Anne was the daughter of Martin and Marie Bartholomy and was the oldest of three children. She attended Catholic school until she was about 14 years. When the family moved to North Branch, she attended North Branch High and graduated in 1958. Growing up, she participated in the marching band as a Majorette. Anne was very crafty. She loved knitting, crocheting, sewing and many other crafts. After graduating on July 5th Anne married Carl and had 3 children, Theresa, Kathleen and Douglas. Most of the time Anne was a stay home mom. When her children were older, she worked for K-Mart and Toys R Us and sold Avon. Her hobbies included playing Bunko, bowling, Bible studies, and a sewing circle where she made items for the homeless, elderly, and young mothers. Anne and Carl are members of the Fort Ogden United Methodist Church. They raised their children in Flint, Michigan and after retirement, they moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. They then moved to Punta Gorda, Florida where they are residents.
After battling with Parkinson’s for thirty years, Anne went to her heavenly home on May 22, 2019. Leaving behind her husband Carl, three children, Theresa (Dave) Robinson, Kathy Perini and Doug (Sue) O’Brien; grandchildren, Michael, Christy, Charlotte, Casey Rose, Brent (Dana) and Moriah; great grandchildren, Roseallie Read, Alexander Rose and Ezekiel.
Anne is survived by her sisters, Mary Jane Holcomb and Marsha Bartholomy; nieces and nephews, Michael (Luann) Holcomb and their children Michael Jr., Tyler, and Johnathan; Carolyn White and her children, Allysun and Aaliyah; Cheryl (Suraj) Lawal and their children, Rasheed, Jordan, Aminah, and Kaidin; Gary (Lindsey) Holcomb and their child, Kash; Rodney (Sara) Holcomb and their son Rodney Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Fort Odgen United Methodist Church, 6923 S W. River Street, Fort Odgen FL 34267 on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
