Ruth Esther Nohle Beard

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Ruth Esther Nohle Beard passed from this mortal coil on June 24, 2025. Daughter of Lewis B. Nohle and Margaret Freitag Nohle, Ruth was born in Rochester, NY, on May 21, 1926.

A 1944 graduate of Rochester, NY, East High School, Ruth married Wesley J. Beard in 1946 and raised six children. Sadly, her third child, Tommy, passed before his first birthday.

Ruth was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attained the rank of Grand Electa in the Grand Chapter. Ruth was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

A lover of camping, Ruth and her family enjoyed many vacations in New York State Parks. Wesley and Ruth later enjoyed many trips with NCT campers all over the USA. A social butterfly, upon arriving at a camping location, Ruth soon knew everybody’s names!

Ruth and Wes moved to Alligator Park, Punta Gorda, in 2004, where they enjoyed playing cards, socializing, and hosting family visitations.

Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Thomas; her brothers, Lewis and James; and her husband of over 73 years, Wesley.

Surviving family members include children, David Wesley Beard, Lawrence Lewis (Larry) Beard (wife Ginny), Diane Susan Muck (Dennis), Jeffrey Daniel Beard, Sr. (Liz), and Wendy Ruth Vine (Hiram).

Grandchildren: Aimee Thunberg, Aaron Dilapi (Nina), Christina Kerr (Stevie), Becky Beard, Jamie Vine, Jessica Kerr, Jeffrey Beard, Jr (Amanda).

Great-Grandchildren: Destiny, MaKenzie, Skylar, Aiden, Braden, Emery, Natalie, Ellimere, Abel, Serenity, Eamon, Elliot, Clara, Colton, and Dylan.

Child and Grandchild in Heaven, along with her Thomas and Jody.

A Memorial Service is being held June 30, 2025, at 10 AM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
