Born on August 25, 1937, in Michigan, Sharon lived a life rooted in love, family, and an appreciation for life’s simple blessings. She later made her home in Punta Gorda, Florida, where she enjoyed traveling, the beauty of retirement, and the peaceful pastime of watching the birds gather outside her home. Those quiet moments reflected the gentle spirit that so many knew and loved.
More than anything, Sharon treasured her family. She found joy in watching her family grow through each generation, and her kindness, warmth, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Dick Johnson; her son, William Thatcher Johnson; her mother, Omeline Molly Goik; and her great-great-grandson, Stoic Ewing Rutherford.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Jan Jennings (Richard) and Tracy Johnson (Brian). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Staci Livingston (George), Skyler Johnson (Noah), and Kele Johnson. Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren, Lauren, Montana, Nevada, Tyler, Rachael, Gavin, and River. She was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren, Savannah, Marley, Alex, Saban, Sebastian, Asher, and Makai.
Sharon will be remembered for her gentle heart, her love of family, and the contentment she found in life’s everyday moments. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A graveside service for Sharon will be Friday, August 14, 2026 at 10am at Charlotte Harbor Cemetery; 4410 Church St., Port Charlotte, FL 33980. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Welfare League.
