

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant, Shirley Naumann.
Shirley Ann Pearl Naumann was born on November 14, 1929 and was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on November 28, 1929 at Saint James Lutheran Church in Shawano Wisconsin. She attending all her school years at Saint James Lutheran School, and was confirmed on April 1, 1943. She received the gift of a beloved companion in holy matrimony to the late Lt.Col. Theodore Naumann USAF on Christmas Day, 1954 and was blessed with sixty-four years of marriage, and blessed with the gift of three sons, ten grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Shirley was a communicant member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod all her life, in which she regularly cherished the preaching and teaching of God’s word and received the life-giving Body and Blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament of Holy Communion. She served on the Ladies’ guild, and supported the Lutheran Layman’s League and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She loved being the hostess for guests invited to their home, particularly church leaders, from Lutheran Bible Translators and Concordia Theological Seminary.
Shirley was the daughter of Robert and Sophia Maria (Staub) Lemhouse, the youngest of eight children, the sister of the late Daniel, Margaret, Benjamin, Dorothy, Frederick, George, and Robert Lemhouse. She was the loving Mother of Rev. Dr. Jonathan (Cheryl) Naumann, Rev. Dr. Paul (Dana) Naumann, and Timothy (Celia) Naumann. She was the grandmother of Brian, David (Laura), Edward (Monica), Gordon (Marta), and Nigel (Persis) Naumann; Dorothy (Micah) Glenn; Philip (Chelsey), Andrew, Janel (Ben) Ostafinsky and Ariel Zufelt. She was great-grandmother to Hannah, Ruth, Phoebe, Vaughn, Lois, Matthias, Lydia, Martin, William, Charles, Robert, Emily, Alfred, Theresa, Felicity, Arthur, Ralph, Zara and Atlas Naumann; Jonathan, Talitha and David Glenn; and Rhiannon Zufelt.
Shirley was a beautician, a seamstress, and an award-winning golfer - a seven-times nine-hole women’s champion at Twin Isles Country club.
God peacefully called her home in the early hours of Wednesday morning, August 13, 2025 at the age of 95. ‘Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord, says the Spirit. For they rest from their labors and their deeds do follow them’ (Rev. 14.13).
