Stephen Sanaghan Duncan, 91, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away at home Friday, November 21.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Steve was the son of the late Brooks Harrison Duncan and Elizabeth (Sanaghan) Duncan. He graduated from Lyons Township High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Illinois Institute of Technology.
He served in the US Army from 1954-1956, and held various management positions during his 33-year career at Illinois Tool Works before retiring in 1996.
Steve was a true creative and a tireless maker of beautiful things throughout his life. He was a founding member of Peace River Woodturners in Punta Gorda. An avid cross-country skier and passionate sailor, Steve loved nothing more than sharing a day on the water with his many boating friends in Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Florida.
Steve was preceded in death by his brother Philip, and is survived by his sons Timothy and Patrick, and grandsons Jackson, Luke, and Brooks.
He will be buried with military honors at Sarasota National Cemetery on Thursday, December 4th, at 10 a.m. Visitation is Wednesday, December 3rd, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 East Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda.
