Steven Barczyk, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away at the age of 73 on July 19, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on June 24, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Steven lived a life full of dedication to his family and service to his community.
A proud graduate of the local high school in his hometown, Steven demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his nation through his service in the United States Army. His service defined much of his early life and became a foundational part of his character. Following his military tenure, he continued to embody the values of loyalty and camaraderie through his active involvement in local organizations, including the Beechview Athletic Association (BAA) and as a respected member of the American Legion. The synergy between his Army experience and his community engagement was also apparent in his passionate support for the Gulf Coast Sports Boosters.
Steven's infectious enthusiasm for life and his dedication to his loved ones were most evident in his 47 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Georgiana Barczyk. Together, they nurtured a family that grew to include three wonderful children: Daniel (Telly), Troy (Tracy), and Edward. He reveled in the joys of fatherhood and later embraced the role of grandfather with equal zeal, leaving behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren: Owen, Gavin, Ryan, Mark, and Brooke.
Though he is preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Edward Barczyk, Steven's memory will continue to be honored by his surviving family. His brother, David (Mary K), and sister, Chris Tsamborles, along with his extended family and a close-knit circle of friends, will remember Steven for his unwavering integrity, sense of humor, and the warmth he extended to all who knew him.
As we bid farewell to Steven Barczyk, we honor a life well-lived, full of purpose and love. His memory will be eternally cherished by those who had the privilege to know him. Though he may have departed from this world, the imprint he left on the hearts of his loved ones is indelible. Rest in peace, Steven; you will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
