William John Brennan Jr. (“Bear”), 77, of Northport, beloved husband of Janet M Brennan for 34 years, died on July 26, 2023 at the Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was the son of the late John Brennan Sr and Anne Bienkowski Brennan of Hartford CT, and the brother of Maureen Warner of Mechanicsburg PA, Peggy Taylor of West Hartford CT, and Patti (Bruce) Southwick of Wethersfield CT. He also leaves to mourn his loss, nieces and nephews Matthew Warner, Alison Setliff, Lyndsey Russell, Erin Michalak, Gregory Southwick, Kristen Southwick, Rene Trotta, Benjamin Pratt, and Wendy Calabro. Mr Brennan attended Bulkeley High School in Hartford and Miami University in Ohio. He was employed for many years by The Hartford Insurance Company, and also served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. In retirement he enjoyed fishing, the Florida sunshine, and eating out and socializing with the many friends he made, as well as serving his community as a volunteer poll worker. At Bill’s request, there will be no wake or funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held in Connecticut at a later date to be determined.
