Doris June LaPoma

She was born Doris June Beutter on June 12, 1926, in Clearwater, Neb. During the Depression, the family moved to Puyallup, Wash., and Doris graduated from Puyallup High School in 1944. She attended all of the "Class of '44" reunions until 2010.

Doris married Dorwin L. Hinman and moved to Olympia, Wash., where she worked as a court recorder at the State Capitol. She and Dorwin had three children, and divorced in 1959.

Doris and the children moved back to Puyallup where she worked for attorneys and judges. Doris then married Joseph LaPoma in 1969; he died in 1990.

In 1998, Doris moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and was a volunteer at the Hospice Thrift Store for six years.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph. She leaves behind daughters Donna R. Edwards of Wallace, Idaho, and Debby Hagen of Coeur d'Alene; son Dale R. Hinman of Tucson, Ariz., stepson Joseph M. LaPoma of Clackamas, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will held 9:30 am Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Powers Funeral Home 320 West Pioneer, Puyallup, WA 98371.

Cremation has been entrusted to English Funeral Chapel of Coeur d'Alene.

Doris would hope that any memorial donations be sent to Hospice of North Idaho at 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, Idaho, 83835. They were truly the angels of her last days.
