Evelyn Ruth Sobottka

Evelyn was born in Aberdeen, WA to Chalmers and Maude Irwin. She is survived by one sister, Josephine Cooney of Federal Way and was preceded in death by her sister Annabelle Maher, and brothers John Irwin and Robert Irwin.

Evelyn and Robert (Bob) Sobottka were married in Seattle on June 8, 1946. Just 5 months prior to Bob's passing in November 2009, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. They raised four children. Jerry (Linda) Wuichet of Napa, CA, Judi (Bill) Faulkner of Olympia, Kim (Pat) Ehrman of Poulsbo, and Ted (Pranee) Sobottka of Puyallup. In addition, she is also survived by six grandchildren, Iris Grasst, Leslie Babich, Scott and Jason Faulkner, O Sobottka, Tom Weed, and eight great-grandchildren.

During their marriage, Evelyn enjoyed dancing with Bob, annual summer vacations at Lake Chelan with their children, friends, and family, golf, and traveling with their RV group from Kloshe Illahee. She also loved Bandit her dog, playing bingo and was an avid reader.

For the last 10 months, she resided at The Village Green in Federal Way, WA.

There will be a celebration of her life on November 3rd, 1-3 pm in the clubhouse at Kloshe Illahee, Federal Way, WA.
