Following his service in the US Army, he returned to Puyallup where he eventually started his career in the construction industry. Harold was well known for his skills as a heavy equipment operator and knowledge of the industry. He worked for several companies both in Washington and Oregon, and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 612.
Along with his passion for work, he also enjoyed camping and traveling the country by RV. His most memorable attribute from his many friends and family, though, was his love for playing pranks and jokes on those around him. He will forever be remembered for the laughs he left us with.
Harold leaves behind his wife of 49 years Clara, his sons Gregory, Raymond, Ronnie (Sheri), Keith (Collene), and his grandchildren Jessica, Brittany, Alicia, Jerid, Tucker, and Ryan. He also is survived by 7 brothers and sisters, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Those who greeted him in the afterlife include his parents, sisters Audrey, Virginia, and Verna Mae, brothers Larry and Jimmy, and close friend/brother-in-law Richard.
Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 at Powers Funeral Home, 320 W. Pioneer, Puyallup, WA 98371. Visitation for family begins at 11 am, and opens to everyone at 11:30 am to 1 pm. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1 pm, with a reception following.
Harold's preferred charity was Feed the Children. Please consider a donation to them, or your favorite charity, in lieu of flowers.
