

Howard K. Hansen, 80, of Graham passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. Howard was born June 27, 1930 in Ramona, South Dakota to Charles Lawrence Hansen and Helene (Nielsen) Hansen. His parents moved around South Dakota until finally settling in Madison, South Dakota. Howard came to Tacoma with his family in 1942 from South Dakota. They moved to Puyallup where he helped his father build a home. He attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma and then enlisted with the Marine Corp and later the Air Force, where he served 6 years. Two of those years were in Japan during the Korean War. Howard was a man of many trades; welder, carpenter, truck driver, heavy equipment operator, mechanic and much more. Howard lost his wife; Marlene, March 24, 1985, after 32 years of marriage. Howard is survived by brothers; Carner (Sylvia), Anton (Helen) and Charles (Mary) Hansen, Daughters; Gayle (John) Jones, Helena (Paul) Moriarty and Carol (Brian) Leitch, Sons; David (Edna) and William (Trisa) Hansen, 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. A beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. We will miss you, PAPA!
