

Long time Edgewood resident J. Jeanne Crawford Dexheimer Heine, born April 13, 1918, died peacefullu, surrounded by loving family, January 11, 2011, in the same house in which she was raised. Jeanne graduated from Fife High School in 1936, therafter attending Knapp's Business College in Tacoma. While living and working in Bremerton, she met and married her Marine in May of 1939, Raymond Rule Dexheimer. She lost him in 1947 to disease contracted in the Philipines during the war. A few years later, she met, fell in love again and married Albert Vernon Heine. Many will remember Jeanne for her family business, Gaffney Suppliers in Edgewood. Jeanne was a proud and dedicated citizen and participated in many organizations through the years; following are some of them: first was her church, White River Presbyterian, where she was a member for over 50 years until its closure in 2009; founding member of Fife Business and Professional Women: Women's Life (Benefit) for over 60 years; Active member of Puyallup Valley Republican Women. She loved to travel and fortunately was able to tour many countries over her lifetime. She made friends wherever she went and whichever group she was a part of. The citizens of Edgewood will benefit from Jeanne's donation of land preserve know as "Crawford Woods". Jeanne was preceded in death by her last husband of fifty years, Al Heine, her brother, Don Crawaford, daughter-in-law Carolyn Dexheimer. She leaves behind her son, Raymond Dexheimer, her sister, Bonnie Faherty; Grandchildren; Donevan (Rachel) Dexheimer, Darrin (Meloney) Dexheimer, Trissa (Scott) Barney, Great Grandchildren; Kala, Samantha, Brianna, Jessica, and Isaac. She also leaves behind a large extended family including many nieces and nephews who will also grieve for her. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011, 11:00AM at Mission Woods Presbyterian Church in Milton. A viewing will be Friday, January 14, 2011, 4-8PM at Powers Funeral Home, Puyallup.
