“You will be missed”
Laura Brandt, born on November 14 1928 in Tacoma, Washington and who was loved by many, passed away suddenly on December 13, 2011 in Puyallup, Washington.
Laura will be greatly missed by family and friends, but perhaps most by her daughter Nancy and husband David. An amazing grandmother, grandchildren Emily (spouse Ian), Devon (spouse Emma) and Aaron Greer will sorely miss her presence, guidance and support. Special niece Janet (husband David), along with friends Rod/Jan Spry and Peggy/Chuck Biller have been a strong source of support to Laura throughout the years. Laura was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill in 2003.
Working for the Puyallup School District as a food services manager, Laura retired in 1993. Retirement was a busy event for Laura who stayed active maintaining “the most beautiful yard on 21st street”, while fishing whenever possible at “the cabin” , making lefse, and visiting family and friends. She loved to can, cook, and bake - sharing all with anyone who stopped by! But perhaps most of all, Laura loved spending time with - or talking to - family and friends.
Laura is survived in death by her daughter (Nancy), three grandchildren, one great grandchild, her brother Gordon Kinsman and many special relatives. It goes without saying that each and every person who came into contact with Laura has special memories of her ability to turn every event into something momentous - including and involving everyone who happened to stop by! We know she is a great addition to God’s family in Heaven, spreading cheer there as she spread it here on Earth.
An open house and celebration of Laura’s life will take place on December 23rd, from 12:00 to 4:30 PM at the Good Sheppard Lutheran Church - 140 East 56th Street, Tacoma, Wa. Please stop by, say hi and remember Laura’s wonderful life.
Arrangements under the direction of Powers Funeral Home, Puyallup, WA.
