Laura Jean Hardy passed away on September 27, 2016 in Puyallup, WA. She was 104 years old; a fact she was deeply proud of. In most places she lived and visited she was the oldest person there and she often asked to make sure. She was born in Seattle and lived in this area for all of her 104 years. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling but she always came back to the great Northwest. Laura never had a career outside the home; instead, she focused all her energy on her family. She took great pride in her kids, grand kids, great grandkids, great great grandkids and even great great great grandkids. Being the start of such a large family unit was a source of tremendous pride for her. During her long life she enjoyed traveling and listening to music as well as dancing to good music. She also enjoyed her soap operas. She is survived by her children: David Hardy of Hibbing, MN; Lorraine Simpson of Lake Tapps, WA; Margaret Newman of Lake Tapps, WA; Katherine Roggeman of Phelps, WI; and Sandra Curd of Fruitland, WA. She is preceded in death by her husband Olin Hardy, her brother Wilson Vine and sisters Lucille, Hilda, Dorothy and Myrtle. She is the last of her generation to go; another source of pride for her. A memorial of her life will be held on October 6th, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home, 320 W. Pioneer Ave, Puyallup.
