Louis James Thiel

Louis James Thiel, 88 passed away at home while surrounded by family and friends on May 5th, 2015. Louis was born in Waukon Iowa on November 14th 1926 he was a Navy Veteran who served during WWII. The long time Puyallup resident was retired from Weyerhaeuser and was a devout Catholic who served as a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his first Wife Johanna, Son Henry, and Grandson Mathias. He leaves behind a large family including his Wife Marlene, Sons Louis Jr, and Anthony, Daughters Theresa, Debra, Faye, and Sandra, Stepchildren Maryann, Tom and Steve, 20 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren. Louis led a full and active life volunteering thousands of hours over 22 years to St. Joseph’s Hospital and other charities. A Rosary and viewing will be held at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup on May 11th, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup on May 12th, 2015 at 11:30 AM with a reception immediately following. Graveside services will be held at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, Federal Way WA at 2:30 PM.
