

Richard (Dick) T Stoner was born March 22, 1931, in Tacoma, WA to Sanford and Reva Wolcott Stoner. He had one brother, William (Bill) Stoner and numerous friends and relatives. Dick was a thoughtful and caring man in any endeavor he took on.
Dick was involved in Puyallup High School Sports and graduated in 1949. His sports picture is still on display at Puyallup High School.
He attended the University of Washington and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business.
He served in the US Air Force for eight years. When he returned home in 1956 he took over the family Sporting Goods Store.
In the early 60’s he meet the love of his life, Elyse. They were married for 48 years until her death in 2007.
During their marriage, Dick and Elyse became the Executive Secretary for the PITA (Pacific International Trapshooters Association. They worked side by side for 18 years.
Together they traveled to many trapshoots and both were excellent shots . Dick also was extremely proud of Elyse’s artistic talent. She created many of the yearbook covers and painted beautiful pictures
Dick also loved his animals. He once said that he thought he had 35 dogs in his lifetime. He daily fed the ducks and squirrels at his property on Lake Chalet.
Dick was a collector in his later years. He collected steins, salt and peppers shakers, stamps, whiskey pitchers, shot glasses, bar trays, coins and many other things.
Dick enjoyed reading. He loved mysteries and poetry. Every now and then he would find a poem or a quote and would often send a copy to his family and friends.
He died peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital on December 6th after an extended illness. He is survived by Kerry, Shawn and San Stoner, Paul and Judi Fry and many other loving family members.
Dick was a man with an easy smile, a love of a good joke, and most of all he loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
