

Robert D. Killmer, age 73, passed away on February 11, 2017. He was born on October 28, 1943 in Seattle, WA and resided in Kent and Tacoma, WA. After high school he joined the U.S. Coast Guard serving six years in Alabama, Alaska and Kennewick, WA. He had a passion for wildlife photography and was a collector of hobby model trains. Another significant focus of his life was his work with the Tacoma Rescue Mission where he worked as the Facilities Director responsible for construction and maintenance for numerous mission projects. He began with the Mission in 1986 and worked there for over 30 years making him the longest employed member of that family since 1912. He was a valued co-worker respected for his time and dedication that he gave to his work and community.
He is survived by his three children, Melinda (Ron) Brown, Marie (Dana) Gelman, Jason (Brenda) Killmer, two granddaughters, Melanie and Lexi Killmer and his sisters Barbara Hyatt, Kathe Simpson and brother LeRoy Killmer.
