Andrew T. Craft

Andrew was born in Queens, NY to Robert & Gigi Craft nee Dorcely on May 2, 1986. He went to school at Copiague High School. He worked as a Highway Patrolman for the Nevada State Police for two years, and as a Police Officer for the Clark County School District (CCSD) Police Department for six years. As an avid motorcyclist and having a passion for traffic safety, he continued towards his dream of being on the Traffic Unit by recently graduating from the LVMPD Motor School.

Andrew is preceded in death by his mother, Gigi Craft nee Dorcely; and is survived by his son, Isaiah Matthew Craft, his brother, Robert Ashley Craft, his father, Robert Craft, his girlfriend, Chelsea Wilson, aunts and uncles, Christine Craft, Julio Dorcely, Chantel Dorcely, Jocelyn Dorcely and Ernst Dorcely, and a host of other family and friends, and his sisters and brothers-in-arms.

He moved to Las Vegas to pursue his dream--a career in Law Enforcement where he found his true calling and formed his second family in this profession that he became very passionate about. He served with pride and wanted to demonstrate that Police Officers can be strong and impactful while being empathetic to those who live in the community. He brought a dedication and infectious personality that endeared him to his brothers and sisters in blue.

He was a devout father, and his primary motivator in life was to ensure he raised his son, Isaiah, to become a man of integrity with a strong work ethic, similar to his own. He passed on his love for motorcycles and cars to Isaiah. They would frequent expos and shows and go on long trips to enjoy the vehicles and bikes he worked so hard for and maintained himself. Nothing brought him more pleasure, than to work at the same school Isaiah attended and to have lunch together.

He was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed taking his son and girlfriend to comedy shows, bowling, the movies, or taking his new truck on a long drive while he enjoyed a cup of coffee. On a cold night, you could find him in his backyard near a fire pit, wearing shorts and a sweatshirt, enjoying a glass of bourbon, and smoking a cigar. He would listen to music and make it a point to laugh with the company he was in or get on the phone and make someone else’s life brighter.

His family and friends will remember him as a joyous and courageous man. He was loved by many and will leave a void in those he touched.

A visitation for Andrew will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10:30 AM . The service will be begin at 11:30am officiated by Steven Fandozzi II. There will be a video presentation at 11:55am. Family & friends can pay their last respects at 12:00 PM with the committal service to follow on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:15 PM at Nassau Knolls Cemetery, 500 Port Washington Boulevard, Port Washington, NY 11050.
