Brother Angus and his wife invited us to visit them in Florida 1994. We came ; loved the place and moved to Florida four years later. They took us to New Life  Assembly where we worshipped until their return to New York. The friendship began at Bethlehem Assembly in New York.
We were very saddened when they had to return to New York but we kept in touch by telephone. We dearly missed them and are very saddened by the going  home of dear brother Johnny as I was privileged to call him. Our sincere condolences to Dale, Jackie,Marva and Joan; 
and their families. Heaven has gained a peaceful SOUL. May eternal light rest upon him; a true friend never to be forgotten.

I remember the first time that I met Mr Distant when he came  to California to visit Abim Heather and Josh. He reminded me of the calmness  of my Dad.  When he spoke to me that very first time, it was like I had known him for years. What a gentleman he was. Greetings Family, my name is Richard Duncan, from Lehigh Acres Florida .  My first  encounter with General Angus Distant was at New Life Assembly of God church.  I saw this man and I started watching him and the more I watched him was the more he reminded me of my dad who left us way too soon.  Daddy Angus’ mannerisms, dress and smile was all my dad’s.  Daddy Angus was a listening man, a caring man and a well educated man who held an executive position in the church….I’ve told him on many occasions that he is a spitting image of my dad.  He would laugh, so I showed him a picture of my dad, he looked at it and said, “ dat is a handsome guy!!!”  My condolences goes to Mama Enid and everyone who ever had an opportunity to encounter the General. To the entire family, we want to express our heartfelt sympathy for your terrible loss.  Angus was a true gentleman, and a respected leader here at New Life.  Personally, his friendship was a treasure to me and added great value to my life.
Angus and Enid led our weekly prayer team for years.  He served on our Board of Directors from 2011 till the time they moved north.  We have missed them every day since.
When Angus spoke, it was with careful thought and purpose.  People listened to what he had to say.  He and Enid were great team mates, and provided an excellent example of loving, solid partnership.
Our dear friend has gone to heaven.  It's hard to imagine his new home, but we know his reward will be great.  We pray blessings to all who loved him.
