Anne was known for her warm smile and loving ways. She loved her church, her God, and her country. She dearly loved her family and the many friends she acquired at the New York City Board of Education Offices where she worked successfully for over 40 years. She also loved her neighbors and friends from her Queens Village neighborhood and her latest community, Woodland Pond in New Paltz NY. She was devoted to her dogs, Bonnie and Honey, and had two precious cats which lived to be 21 and 23 years old. She enjoyed and studied opera and sang at many recitals, weddings, and other events. She and her sister Vera would go to the Metropolitan Opera and buy standing room tickets on many Saturdays. She adored Luciano Pavarotti and listened to his operas often. She loved old films and had an extensive collection, with the likes of Bette Davis, William Holden, and James Cagney, three of her favorites. Being legally blind, life was not easy for Anne (known by many as Nan) and yet she compensated using her other skills to overcome so many barriers. She was bright and had a great memory. She devoted many years of her life to caring for her mother, sister and uncle all of whom had long illnesses and needed her support. She will be sorely missed by those who knew her.
