Bindesraie “Lilly” Mohabir-Mattow passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 92. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, relative, and friend, Lilly touched generations with her love and brought joy to those around her.
Born in Bel-Air Village, Georgetown, Guyana, Lilly grew up with her brother, Dalchand, and her sisters, Pinky and Rosie, who preceded her in death. Lilly was the mother of Teddy, the late Harry “Jack,” Meena, Owadh, Chandra, Sunita, Jai, and Raj. She was also a Grandma and great-grandmother to countless others.
Lilly migrated to America in the 90's, opening doors to new opportunities for her family. She is the reason so many of us are here today. Through her, our family grew, giving us even more people to love. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will carry her love, grace, and humility with them.
To many of us, Lilly’s cooking—especially her curry—was the best we had ever tasted. It was one of the ways she cared for us, and we will remember it always. Her sharp mind remained with her until almost the very end, a remarkable part of the woman we knew and admired.
Lilly will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Forever loved and forever remembered, she will remain in our hearts.

Cremation will follow at All Soul's Crematory at St Michael's Cemetery, 72-02 Astoria Blvd S., East Elmhurst, New York 11370, on October 1, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
