Junior high and high school were well behind us. And, as it often happens post-adolescence, life took us in different directions. Not as often, however, can friendships withstand time and space apart. Such was ours. So when I got her call after some well overdue years, I grabbed my bag, jumped in the car, and in no time we were back at it - Giggles and laughs, no different than those shared when I first sat down next to Cathy in 7th grade band class.

I didn't plan on sharing this memory, but I awoke yesterday morning having just dreamt about Cathy. When Cathy first passed, I dreamt about her a lot - good dreams, funny dreams, laughing and talking. And since then, every so often, I still do, but I hadn't dreamt about her in a while. Unaware of the date, initially, I sat down in front my computer mid-morning, and opened up my calendar only to realize it was the anniversary of Cathy's passing. Now, I don't know how or why these things happen. One might say coincidence. What I do know though is that good friends never get 'old'... even if only in our hearts.
Miss and love you, friend.

STREGHT FOR THE PARENTS AND THE 2 LIL GIRLS TO CONTINUE THEIR LIVES

With a heavy heart, my mother Jacqueline and myself Guadalupe, wish to offer our condolences. My mother, brother and I were neighbors of Cathiana’s parents in the apartment building. To be exact, we lived in the apartment directly above on the 6th floor.
Her parents extended my mother help to give me a ride to middle school IS 109 during my first week there back in 1997.
She will be missed.
May you the family find fortitude in prayer.
With Love,
Guadalupe and Jacqueline.

I'm so sorry my 💔 she was a great mother to her beautiful daughter's
my 🙏 for her and her family

Our sincerest sympathy to all of Cathy's family and friends. We only knew her a few months, since she moved into her house, but whenever we spoke with her, she was always so pleasant, with a smile on her face. Our hearts ache for the girls, who no longer have their mother with them, and for Cathy, who will not be there to experience the joy of watching them grow up. I am sure she will be watching over them from above, and will appreciate all the love and guidance showered upon them by her family and friends. God bless her and her beautiful girls.

Words cannot express the sadness and grief I am feeling . My deepest sympathy to the family , i have gotten know Cathiana and her family over the last 13 years .Our kids started kindergarten together . You were such a loving, and kind hearted person gone too soon. You will be missed dearly but will live on in our hearts and memories. May you rest in peace for the lord has come to take you home .

Cathiana was a very sweet human being, I only knew her for a short time. I send my prayers to her children and family in these tough times. May god give comfort to her family and everyone affected.

My sincere condolence to the entire family. Cathy was a student in my seventh grade math class at I.S. 109.
I can clearly see Cathy's wide, bright, and beautiful smile from all those years ago. That is how I will always remember her.

Word's cannot express our condolences, we are at a loss for words. "Cat" was such a beautiful person, inside and out. She was an amazing Mom, and we can't imagine the girls lives without her. We keep praying for them, and hope they know they are not alone. May God bless her soul and let her rest in peace. We know she is watching over her babies, from heaven. 🙏Amen🙏
