On October 10th 2017 we lost an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and dear friend. Christine Nameck was a beautiful person, full of love and kindness. She touched the lives of so many, and will be greatly missed. Born in Brooklyn to Helen and Thomas Dziuba, Christine, along with her brother Richard grew up in Greenpoint. She was a parishioner of The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord. Being an active member of her church organization she made life-long friends, and met her husband Robert Nameck. Robert was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Orthodox church in Whitestone. They met bowling opposite each other on their church leagues and attending other church activities. They married in November 1969. Daughter Carol and son Paul were born, then lovingly raised in Queens Village.
Christine was very kind, giving and supportive. She was always happy to help a friend or lend a hand. She served on the PTA of her children's school, taught Sunday school at church, assisted with the girl scouts, and cooked big family dinners on holidays. Her life took a turn at 35. Christine lived with the crippling disease of Multiple Sclerosis for 31 years. Despite all her struggles, and even on her weakest days, she always found the energy to smile and make others do the same. Her courage, strength, and spirit was, and will continue to be an inspiration to us all.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Christine’s honor @ http://www.ChristineNameck.com.
